1. Check Japan's banned items first

2. Send only labelled food
Achar, spices and snacks should be in factory-sealed packs with a printed label. Homemade or loose food may be inspected or rejected by Japanese customs.
3. Use the right bottles for liquids
Ghee, cooking oil and honey must be in small, labelled, narrow-mouth bottles with tight lids. Wrap each bottle in plastic. Each bottle costs Rs. 500 extra.
4. Write the full Japanese address
Include the receiver's full name, full address with the 7-digit Japanese postcode, and a phone number in Japan.
5. Declare every item

6. Pack heavy items at the bottom
